I'm Racing For Kids!

Every year, around 60,000 babies, children, and young patients receive care at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital, many facing incredibly difficult and life-changing challenges.

This year, the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation (GCHF) is working to create a dedicated hub within the Youth Oncology Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital. According to GCFC, this designed space will aim to be welcoming, comforting, and interactive - giving young patients a place to take a break from the pressures of treatment. By supporting emotional wellbeing and reducing anxiety, this hub will make a meaningful difference during one of the toughest times in a young person's life.

Children in hospital deserve more than treatment. They deserve spaces to play, move, and simply be kids. Spaces that spark joy, build resilience, and support healing.

At the same time, the A.B. Paterson College Foundation is placing student wellbeing at the heart of its 2026 vision, with plans to transform the existing Collaborative Learning Centre into a dedicated Student Wellness Centre for secondary students. This initiative, led in partnership with the 2026 FAB Committee, will create a purpose-built hub designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of students.

This project builds on a strong history of Foundation-led initiatives that have enhanced student life, including the much-loved Ninja Warrior Junior School playground and upcoming upgrades to the College pool precinct.

This May, I am turning a simple daily walk into something far more powerful, helping raise vital funds to support young patients in hospital and create lasting, positive change for students at A.B. Paterson College.
