Little steps can make a big impact
Each year, approximately 60,000 babies and young patients under the age of 18 receive care at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital. For many of these children, hospital stays can be long, challenging, and overwhelming.
The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation (GCHF) is striving to create a dedicated wellbeing hub within the Youth Oncology Unit, a space designed to be welcoming, comforting, and interactive. According to GCHF, this hub will offer children a place to relax, recharge, and momentarily take their minds off treatment, helping to ease anxiety and support emotional wellbeing during an incredibly difficult time.
By investing in a more child-friendly and engaging hospital environment, the GCHF aims to improve the experience of the many children who spend extended periods in hospital each year, as well as the thousands of children who visit loved ones across the hospital.

Where do the funds I raise go?
Proceeds (after expenses) will support the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation and the A.B. Paterson College Foundation.
The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation has agreed that any proceeds received will be directed to approved paediatric initiatives at Gold Coast University Hospital, supporting improved patient experience and health outcomes for children.
The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation aims to enhance a waiting space within the oncology area at Gold Coast University Hospital, transforming it into a more youth-friendly environment. This refreshed space will be designed to feel welcoming, comforting, and engaging, offering young oncology patients a place to relax and recharge while they wait for treatment. By creating a more supportive atmosphere, we hope to help ease anxiety and provide a sense of comfort during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
The A.B. Paterson College Foundation will allocate funds to it's 2026 project, a new on-campus student wellness centre proposed for 2027.
